Simpson Wood gained revenge for their defeat in the 2011 inter profession golf match against Eaton Smith by claiming a 13.5 – 11.5 victory in the return match on Friday 10thAugust 2012 at Huddersfield Golf Club.

The ten a side stableford competition was keenly fought and Simpson Wood captain Mark Fielding‘s tactic of strengthening his team this year proved successful although his position in the team next year may be in question given that despite extensive practice Mark lost his fixture 5 – 0!

The pleasant weather conditions ensured that both teams worked up a thirst on the course and plenty of drinks followed along with a meal.

Eaton Smith captain Mike Webb will no doubt be plotting to recapture the trophy next year.
