    Our In the Spotlight series lets you get to know some of our team better. That might be their hobbies, favourite book or what they would take to a desert island with them. This time we’re talking to David who is our Office Administrator and is currently celebrating 45 years at Simpson Wood!

    Q: What is your role at SW and how did you get into a career in the said job role?
    A: Cashier and reception and got into it from Accounts section in the mid 1980’s.
    Q: If applicable what did you do before SW?
    A: I came to SW straight from School.
    Q: What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis?
    A:  Entering receipts and payments whilst also payng suppliers invoices
    Q: What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day / week?
    A:  Helping customers with invoice / bill enquiries
    Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
    A:  Helping clients and staff with problems.
    Q: Tell us what makes SW different…
    A:  I feel Simpson Wood is different by being a firm that takes helping customers seriously and by doing all we can to help clients with any problems.
    Q: What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?
    A:  Helpful, accommodating and attentive
    Q: What are we most likely to find you doing when you’re not at work? /Hobbies?
    A:  Going out with friends, watching TV and spending time with family. I also tend to help people that are less fortunate at my church which I have attended since a very young age as my mother was a Sunday school teacher.
    Q: What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?
    A:  North Yorkshire due to the coast and countryside
    Q: What’s your party trick?
    A:  I don’t actually have one!
    Q: Favourite chocolate/sweet/food etc?
    A:  Chinese
    Q: Favourite book/podcast/tv show/film?
    A:  Dads Army and old comedy
    Q: Name something off your bucket list?
    A: Go to see the northern Lights
    Q: Favourite/dream holiday destination?
    A:  Spain
    Q: Role model/inspiration?
    A:  My god father and my late mother
    Q: If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 objects would you take?
    A:  Couple of my books and my wife
    Q: Tell us a surprising/fun fact about yourself
    A:  I am a charity trustee that helps people in the community
    Q: If you could learn a new skill what would it be?
    A:  Nothing comes to mind!

    A:  To do ones best
