Gary joined as a Non-Executive Director of the Financial Services board in December 2022.
He is an experienced financial services professional with over 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector. He is also an active Director of the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants Limited and the Association of Pension Transfer Specialists Limited.
Gary was one of the founding Directors of SimplyBiz in 2002 having spent the previous 5 years with the Bankhall Group. During his 20 years with SimplyBiz Group, as Group Compliance Director he was responsible for the oversight of all regulatory services offered by the Group.
Gary was a key part of the team that took the SimplyBiz through its Aim listing in 2018. He retired from his role in June 2022 to care for his sick father. Following the death of his father Gary launched his own consultancy business.
Danny is a general practitioner, dealing with a wide range of business clients, covering a whole variety of services that they require.
He joined the firm as an accounts trainee in 1997 after graduating from York University. After qualifying in 2000 and three more years as an audit senior, he was made a partner in 2003 and became managing director in 2023. He has been involved in all areas of the business throughout his career having been in charge of audit, IT and marketing. He is also our most prolific poster on social media and is also the firm’s specialist on the audit and accounts of academy schools.
Outside of work Danny has previously studied music and four different languages, but freely admits to forgetting most of them; don’t ask him to say anything beyond “Hello” or “Two beers please” these days!
He enjoys spending time with his friends and family (wife Gill and sons Scott and Jack), attending both Huddersfield Town / Giants matches when he can. At home he enjoys cooking, and sitting down in front of the TV with the occasional glass or three of red wine!
