Q: What is your role at SW and how did you get into a career in the said job role?
A: Tax Assistant/Apprentice – I geared my studies towards having a career in tax. Davis in SWFS recommended the job role, after I finished my studies.
Q: If applicable what did you do before SW?
A: I went to university and worked in my family’s businesses.
Q: What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis?
A: Working on individual client tax returns and/or corporation tax returns and analysis.
Q: What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day / week?
A: Reconciling the tax due on a client’s tax return when it does not match up with the reported amount by HMRC.
Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
A: Knowing I can make a client more tax efficient and save them on overpaying on their taxes.
Q: Tell us what makes SW different…
A: The amount of support given to clients – high level of customer service adds to the quality and value of the work we do for clients.
For the staff – there is a lot of support for trainees to work to achieve higher level qualifications and gain so much experience dealing with different clients.
Q: What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?
A: Hard-working, Responsible, Happy
Q: What are we most likely to find you doing when you’re not at work?/hobbies?
A:Reading, Baking, Going on nice, long walks
Q: What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?
A: Castle Hill – I used to love going their as a kid
Q: Favourite chocolate/sweet/food etc?
A: Full English breakfast
Q: Favourite book/podcast/tv show/film?
A: Harry Potter series
Q: Favourite/dream holiday destination?
A: Machu Pichu
Q: If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 objects would you take?
A: Matches, Spear, How to survive on a desert island guide book 🙂
Q: If you could learn a new skill what would it be?
A: To learn Kung Fu
