Greetland Academy was one of the first primary convertor academies in Yorkshire. Becoming an independent organisation from 1st January 2011 it was extremely important to ensure that our financial systems were tight. Governors wished to appoint a company who had school experience, were a local company and who were willing to guide us through the changes from being an authority led school to an academy trust. Since conversion we have been more than happy with the quality of service from Simpson Wood. Danny McAllister has been our direct contact and has been at the end of the phone whenever help has been needed; Governors have also welcomed his attendance at meetings to present the annual accounts. We are now working with Simpson-Wood as part of our plans to become a multi-academy trust. The challenging task of completing the annual audit and submission of the accounts by the end of December, which is a very tight turnaround, has been successfully completed every year. The staff conducting the audit and completion of the accounts have been thorough and professional in their approach but have also been approachable and supportive. Simpson-Wood are fully aware of all requirements of the Education Funding Agency. As part of the EFA’s requirements Simpson-Wood has also conducted termly external assurance visits and produced timely reports on the findings of these visits for governors. We are more than happy to recommend the services of Simpson Wood and are looking forward to a long and successful working relationship with them.
